Barium Nitrate is a colorless to white, odorless, crystalline (sand-like) powder. It is used in making fireworks, for green lights and neon lights, and in ceramic glazes.
Barium nitrate appears as a white crystalline solid. Noncombustible, but accelerates burning of combustible materials. If large quantities are involved in fire or the combustible material is finely divided, an explosion may result. May explode under prolonged exposure to heat or fire.
Sodium chloride is used as an electrolyte replenisher to help prevent heat cramps caused by too much sweating. This medicine is also used for the preparation of normal isotonic solution of sodium chloride.
EDTA, is a chelating agent with many applications in molecular biology. EDTA is often used in buffers as a metal ion inhibitor to maintain the stability and integrity of biological samples. EDTA binds to metal cations by forming a stable octahedral complex.
